Somatic Healing and Voice

There are times in life when we need more support. Times of transition, times of uncertainty, and times of deep crisis and trauma. There is nothing to fix or solve, we are simply asked to be present with the process as best we can. I am here to help facilitate a place of added support where you can simply be, simply exist and be witnessed and loved as you are. Perhaps you are feeling there is something deep within you wanting expression that does not yet have words. But maybe, there are sounds. And maybe, there is quiet movement. When you meet with me, I can help you in discovering your nervous system and your voice as a tool to explore yourself; where there is room for all of your emotions and sensations; all of your undiscovered sounds and vibrations.

This is a process that is slow and gentle and rooted in the work of Somatic Experiencing. I am currently a somatic experiencing practitioner in training, having gone through Intermediate II so far. We work at the pace of your nervous system, giving space for its natural unfoldments and cycles, dropping below mind and thoughts into a somatic sensory space. which I am currently a student of. It gives you time to BE with sensations in your body that may have been difficult to feel due to trauma, but once felt, begin to move and cycle into a healing rhythm within your system.

Depending on what arises in a session, I may also use my crystal alchemy bowls and voice help to open up a space for you to connect and receive nourishment, to drop any agendas, and see how your body can find some regulation and rest. Or we may tone and sing together as a way to feel more deeply what is going on in our body and emotions.

“Sometimes all we need is a witness and the space to drop back to our very own open heart.”

Musical tools that may promote healing and wellbeing:

  • Singing scales of the modes: each scale has the potential to awaken different emotional and somatic sensations

  • Singing/toning on one vowel/one note: every vowel has the potential to connect us with various parts of our body/mind/heart

  • Connecting breath with sound: consciously using breath with sound has the potential to regulate the nervous system and cultivate joy and emotional release, and peace.

  • Sing melodies: may unlock stored emotions and sensations in the body

  • Sensing areas of the body that have ‘something to say’ and sounding from these parts

  • Improvising: awakens curiosity, playfulness, lights up the brain, and allows us to be in the present moment

Sessions are 60 min @ $135
